Pros: Great Coverage, Nice plans
Cons: Bad billing, lack of phone choices
The Bottom Line: Carriers can give you more minutes then you could ever use, but that wont do you any good if you cant make a call. Verizon has coverage.

| frontline's Full Review: Verizon Mobile Phone Service in Seattle/Tacoma/Eve... |
am a manager for a cell phone store in the Washington area. Currently we sell AT&T, Verizon, VoiceStream, Nextel and Quest, so I have experience with all these carriers.
I recently decided to get myself a phone and picked Verizon as my choice, because they had the best rates at the time along with a good offer on a phone. Since the time I got the phone I have had plenty of time to play around in their system to evaluate them.
Good Things
Verizon has the largest coverage in this area and it shows. I almost always have coverage no matter where I go. I really like not having to worry about calls going through and I like how clear most the calls are. You will NOT find better coverage in this area with any other carrier. There rate plans can be really good or REALLY bad depending on what the promotion is.
Bad things-
Verizon seems to have a lot of billing problems. I always get customers coming in complaining about over charges. I finally got that same experience once I got my first bill. I was over charged about $100 because of a mess up they made in their computer. I then called them up and told them the problem and of course they told me that it was my fault and that it was no fluke. Next step was to talk to a supervisor, who admitted their mistake and told me that it would be no problem to correct. Well they ended up making me pay the bill in full and then credited back the amount to my account. I thought that was completely ridiculous because it was their mistake! After fighting with them some more I finally got tired of arguing and paid the bill in full. Then the next month they send me a bill with the credited amount, but they didn't credit me for the sales tax I had to pay on the bill I wasn't responsible for! So now I have to call back and argue more with them. I couldn't imagine how hard this would be for a customer who didn't know the right things to say and ask for. Take my advice and if you ever have any problems with your phone, billing or what ever, take it to the store you got it at and ask them to help you. If the store has any customer service they will go to bat for you against the carrier. You will be much better off working though them then on your own. Daily I get customers 100s of minutes free for even 1 or 2 dropped calls, so its worth stopping in for even the smallest problems.
Another bad thing about Verizon is they don’t have many phones to offer compared to companies like AT&T and VoiceStream. The reason they don’t and the reason it takes them so long to get new phones is because of the CDMA technology they use, but I wont go into details about that. If your going to go with any carrier get a decent phone even if it costs more. I always buy Nokias and I wouldn’t buy anything else.
If I had to do it all over again I would still go with Verizon. What everything really comes down to is coverage. A company can have the best customer service in the world and give you more minutes then you could ever use, but that wont do you any good if you cant make a call. Verizon has coverage and often has some really good deals on their plans.
