I purchased a JVC XVN50BK DVD player. I also bought the 3Yr. extended warranty. The DVD player began to have a problem so I called Vanns.com to find out what I had to do to have it fixed. That's when the run-around started. I called and spoke to;"Jim" he told me to call the people who take care of the insurance. I called them, they told me to call Jim back and he would give me the number of the repair service, got it, called them, they told me that they would give me a brand new JVC XVN50BK but I would have to send mine back to them. Jim told me they would be sending the new one to me in the next one or two days. I went to UPS the same day I'd spoken to Jim and sent it back to VANNS. I also sent the notification that UPS sent to me via email. I waited three days, I received nothing from UPS that they had received anything from VANNS, so I called, asked for Jim but he was off. I then spoke to Geri Hall another clerk who was going to help with the problem. I had to repete my name to her at least 5 times and she still had difficulty getting it! Every time I called I had to go throught the same ordeal. Cut to the end. After waiting all this time to finally get this mess strightened out, Mike the supervisor got on the case, at last, I thought to myself, he got everythig fixed! Wrong! VANNS sent me a cheaper JVC XV-N3200. the cost of the JVC XVN50BK $126.85. The cost of the JVC-XN-3200, $79.oo. Mike told me that they no longer carried my model but I went on VANNS website and they were selling it for $109.00.
I feel they screwed me and gave me a load of BS to cover it up. I'm a senior citizen, so I guess they stuck it to me. I bought a DVD player from BESTBUY, it broke, I took it back, they told me to pick another DVD player of the same value, I did and walked out of the store a happy shopper. I bought their extended warranty, no problems! Bottom line, BESTBUY, Yes! VANNS.com, a resounding NO!!
