A "Grandparents Survival Kit"..
Aug 29 '01
The Bottom Line This Survival Kit is easy to make, and will show Grandparents how much they are loved.
This is a cute craft idea called a "Survival Kit" to present to Grandparents. My 3 Grand daughters, ages 4, 6, and 8 gave this to my husband and myself on Grandparents Day last year. Now, being Grandparents day will be here shortly on September 9th, I thought you might like to help your children make one of these kits for their Grandparents on this special day. It's very simple to make, and will be very much appreciated.
Supplies that you will need:
1 Plastic zipper sandwich bag:
1 piece of white or light colored construction paper, about 5 /12 by 6 inches. This will fit inside the bag:
2 Pennies:
1 Candy Lifesaver:
1 Band-Aid:
1 Rubber Band:
1 Candy Tootsie Roll:
2 Marbles:
1 Crayon:
1 Smiley face this can be a sticker with a smiley face on it:
1 Hershey Kiss Foil Wrapped Candy:
Directions:
Print out or write on the top of the paper "Grandparents Survival Kit".
Print out or write these following sentences on the paper also.
2 Pennies: So you have the "cents" to realize how valuable you are.
Life Saver Candy: To remind you of the many times others need your help and you need theirs.
Band-Aid: To help life's hurts...including feelings.
Rubber Band: A reminder to stay flexible and spring right back on days when things just don't go as planned!
Tootsie Roll Candy: For the important "Roll" you play.
Marbles: In case someone says you've lost yours.
Crayon: To color your days cheerful and fun.
Smiley Face: Because your smile brings warmth to the lives of your grandchildren.
Hershey Candy Kiss: To remind you of the power of hugs and kisses.
Now put all the supplies and the sheet of paper in the plastic bag. Now your Survival Kit is now ready.
When our 3 Grand daughters presented this Survival Kit to us, it made us feel so special. Along with this kit we both received a beautiful pink rose, which they said, and I quote-- "A beautiful rose for our beautiful grandma and grandpa". It actually made my eyes fill up with tears.
So let your children know that their grandparents are special by making one of these Kits, and Let them spend the day with them, or call them on this special "Grandparents Day" on September 9th. Let them know how much they are loved for their support and lasting memories on this special and every day. And if you don't have a Grandparent you can always adopt one to begin a new friendship.
When we received this Survival Kit from our grand daughters, it made us feel so very special, because we knew it was made with love for us.
Thanks For reading!
I'm wishing all you Grandparents a very special day on September the 9th.
