I have stayed at a Holiday twice in the past year. In two different states yet had terrible experiences in both. The about a year ago we stayed at a Holiday Inn outside of Baltimore. It was bad experience after another. The chamber maid kept trying to get into our room even though we told her to go away (That was at 4 O'clock in the afternoon), our TV was broken (was never fixed after many calls to the front desk), their bartender was the rudest woman I have ever met in my life. We complained to the front desk in the morning. They offered us a free brunch but we just wanted to get out of there. We wrote about our experience on one of the comment cards. I have am still waiting for a phone call or a letter.
My second experience was in a Holiday Inn in Canton, Ohio. We got an excellent rate on the room because a bunch of rooms were blocked off for my brother's wedding guests. My family scattered in all parts of the hotel. None of us were even on the same floor. The experience was promising at first. The front desk staff was very friendly (except they wouldn't tell me what room my father was staying in!! Security reasons or something). That night many buses filled with Teenagers arrived!! I think every teenager in the U.S. was in the hotel. They were obnoxious, loud, and very unsupervised. I saw many of them sneaking booze in their rooms. We had to call the front desk many times to shut down their parties. They didn't stop until around 2 A.M. (I am not one against having a good time. I am only in my twenties and was also their to party at my brother's wedding). I think the hotel was out of line by letting so many teenagers stay there. I guess it is anything for a buck with no consideration for the other guests that just wanted peace and quiet.
