| ulikey21's Full Review: General Reviews of Nextel Customer Service |
I have been with Nextel for just over a year... I have been happy with the phone service. The phone works in places that my friends cell phones do not, and I don't feel like I've had a lot of dropped calls.
I called Nextel yesterday to see about upgrading my phones. I was pleased when I spoke with someone who was apparantly in the US. (No offense or anything, I just find it dificult to deal with Customer Service people when they are outsourced to other countries; SERIOUS language barrier.) Anyway, so I thought it was going to be a good experience since I wouldn't have to repeat myself 100 times. But it was the worst experience ever.
Bottom line: I spoke with several people. A few were nice, most were rude. I got different information from each one. One told me my contract was up, the other told me I still had a year to go. They each told me different prices for the phone I wanted to buy. Some told me there was an upgrade fee, others said there was not (because I had a corporate discount.) I finally asked for a manager because I was frustrated with all the wrong info. The guy dumped me into some lady's voicemail, I left her a message. She called me back rather quickly. Come to find out she was not even a manager! And she would not listen to me or give me her name or transfer me to a manager. So she ended up hanging up on me!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, the customer service is the worst ever.
Also, the phones are just too darn expensive. Most other cell phone companies give you incentives every so often to purchase new phones. Like discounts, or free phones or something... But Nextel offers no incentive for you to buy a new phone. In fact when you choose to buy a new phone they charge you $35 (upgrade fee) on top of the phone purchase price! How ridiculous is that? Your charging me to buy a new phone!
Well I guess this is not new information. Since every review on here is terrible.
