When I need something from a retail store. I run to Wal-mart. It's reasonable and for the most part things are AMERICAN made.

Wal-mart has become a one stop shopping experience now, with many of their stores being converted into super centers, in which you can buy just about anything. Some of the things you can do in a super center:

GROCERY SHOP

In which you will find very reasonable prices especially on their own name brands. From my experience with using some of their brands I have found them to be equally as good in nature. Another feature that they offer is if some of your local grocery stores are running sale ads they will match the add and grant the price on their opponents sale ad.

Overall, I would prefer to shop at a Wal-mart supercenter for groceries when I have the chance. The reason I say "chance" is because they have only one supercenter in the city I live and its a good distance from me. However there are others in the making in which I can't wait!

LUBE, OIL AND TIRE CHANGE

This is another department in which you can get a good value. You can have tires put on or have your car lubed and the oil changed while you shop. The average oil and filter change is about $15.00 which is a decent price. They will also check your fluid levels, your lights, tire pressure and the normal things you would expect.

OPTICAL SERVICES

Most Wal-Marts offer walk in eye exams with a contracted optometrist where you can have an exam for contacts or glasses. After the exam you can quickly go out to their optical shop if you choose and pick out a frame you like and have them make lens for you.

THE GENERAL STORE

In the store you have your every- day basic needs. Some of the departments that you will find at Wal-mart are clothing, shoes, general hygiene, cosmetics, fabrics, automotive, pet supplies, gardening, and of course general household supplies. For the most part those are the main departments you will find when shopping at any Wal-mart.

To me, its a great place to shop. However here where I live, the two super centers that we have are both located on the outskirts of the city in which I live. Which makes no sense to me because you would think they would put them in the larger city giving people better access. Due to this factor I do not patronize the Wal-Mart super centers more than a couple times a year because of the distance and them being so far out of the way.

If they were to build one more centrally located super center, I would do the majority of my grocery shopping there, as well as other general basic needs. So at this time I primarily shop using only the general Wal-Mart stores. If you have not tried a Wal-mart supercenter do so it will make your life a lot easier with the one stop shopping feature. As well as being able to save you a little bit of money!
