One only has to have the first couple of e-mail contacts with Spirit Offshore Hosting to get a picture of the integrity this company is based on. Between the fast responses to e-mail contacts to the great privacy policy, this company has far-passed my expectations.
My first contact was of urgency as my hosting account had just been shut down by the prior host. Spirit Hosting sprang into action to help me get the domain name changed and my website in place for when the domain name had changed, so the website was set up in the minimal amount of time.
Another positive about this company is the different options of payment. They aren't stuck in the credit card rut that so many seem to be. I counted five different payment methods to choose from, and these are extremely helpful when ordering from another country, as I had to.
The only downfalls I can see with this company are two: No Telnet access (they tell me for security reasons) and no phone support.
For the lack of Telnet access, they helped me with alternate methods of password protecting my directories, so that worked out fine.
About the phone support, once I got used to it, I appreciated not having the international long distance charges, because their e-mail support is quick, thorough, and sufficient.
Web hosting is so important to me because this is my corporation's website I am entrusting in someone else's hands. This is where my paycheck comes from, so finding a good web host was the ultimate goal, which I'm happy to report that I've now reached.
