All You Need Is Love...

Pros: Close-in Dallas convenience and low fares
Cons: The Wright Amendment should be more accurately called "The WRONG Amendment"

We stopped at DFW on our way to Seattle-- flying American, of course. I wasn't too impressed with DFW. Nice to know there's another option.

but the MnG is five minutes from DFW... (Reply to this comment)

so Love is more inconvenient for those coming into town for the MnG...just saying (DFW is only five minutes south of the MnG location)

Since I live here in the Dallas metroplex now, I have to say that even though I have never used Love Field, the Wright amendment just infuriates me. I don't MIND flying American to California or United to Chicago when I visit family - the flights are comfortable and pleasant enough - but the omnipresent $300 round trip ticket stings when I know I could go for probably $200 were Southwest flying non stop to either of those cities.

Good review - now I know what to expect should I ever need to fly out of Love, say, to Houston? hmmm...

if you're flying cross-country to/from Dallas, you don't have a choice. You fly American (or another high-dollar carrier) into DFW, or you take the bus.

I'll just take the bus, thank you very much. I think it'd be worth spending over a day on a cramped, smelly bus to save a few bucks.

And I love your review title, too!

from Love charge a flat rate to Downtown Dallas - last time I flew in, it was $18 to anywhere within a specified rectangle on the map.

The problem with DFW isn't so much that it's big, it's that the idiot who designed it made it one-sided. Since all the gates are one side of the concourse, it's twice as far from gate 10 to gate 20 as it would be anywhere else... bozos!

So, if all you need is Love, what's your Hobby?
