This is not an exhaustive review - its coverage is limited to my current buying experience (Jun 2005).
How did I get to try them? I needed a pair of speakers (Athena AS-F1) at a reasonable price and not too late either since they seemed to be disappearing fast from retailers at the time.
After being frustrated by the bestbuy.com's failure to deliver, almost one month of waiting for nothing, I decided to look for another online store.
A quick search came up with this store and I was happy with the balance between the total price and the reviews on epinions.com
I placed the order during the weekend (Saturday) and got an e-mail confirmation almost immediately.
The final price was comparable to the bb price: the speakers were a bit more expensive but the shipping was free.
It was also worth it.
In general I'm not very choosy in terms of web page design and ease of interaction; that's why I won't comment much about that either.
What matters to me most:
- I can place an order via a logical sequence of steps e.g. an address is needed after I see the total price
- the product is delivered as described/seen and in the timeframe promised at buying time
- I get immediate feedback after the order is placed and also after is shipped, plus a tracking number.
A page where I can check the order status works as well but I want both that and the e-mail feedback.
- I have a choice of payment methods
Their site works as expected and I'm a happy customer.
I got the shipping notification on Monday and Tuesday I had the speakers at my door - shipped with UPS.
I don't want to raise anybody's expectations to unrealistic heights: they shipped from a location that is relatively close to my home, not from the address listed on the web. That might explain the extraordinary short time.
The rest of the process was as seamless as described and I expect it is a repeatable result.
Important:
I didn't need to call their toll free number for any reason hence I can't say anything about the phone interaction with the customer service, sales or any other department -> above average.
The product selection that I have to rate is put as above average - I didn't look for anything else but it's mandatory.
In conclusion: fast, no hassles service & delivery.
The experience was a pleasant one and I would definitely buy again from them.
