Discount travel brokers and consolidators offer consumers great prices on last minute travel. Ticket Wicket (www.twtravel.com), a cruise cabin wholesaler and discount travel agency from Windsor, Canada, has great prices and excellent service, especially for those consumers in the US who can take advantage of very favorable exchange rates. Their website is updated daily, and prices for travel to the Caribbean at all-inclusive resorts and cruise packages are among the lowest in price I see anywhere.
I first learned of this company while on a cruise, from a pair of passengers we met, who resided in Detroit. They had booked a last minute "deal" on a four night cruise from LA, with rt air for $350pp! I didn't believe them at first, until I logged onto to Ticket Wicket's website, and noticed the price for this four night cruise (only) to be going for $125pp!
I made the decision to contact them after several months of searching. I was interested in a cruise, and saw it listed on their website. I called them, and found booking it easy, but I still wasn't too sure I felt comfortable doing business out of the country. As it turned out, my booking went off without a hitch, and I received our documents nearly a month before our sail date.
Booking a cruise or any other form of travel with Ticket Wicket was convenient and easy, but probably not for consumers with special requests. I was very impressed with their prices. I knew in advance of my booking what I wanted. I didn't have any special requests and paying by credit card was not problem.
The few times I spoke to an agent, I had long wait times. I found the few people I spoke to not as knowledgeable about the type of travel I was to engage in (cruises), than what I would have liked. But my reservation and most importantly, the price, was very much to my satisfaction.
Ticket Wicket specializes in all-inclusive travel to Cuba and the Caribbean as well as cruises. Their prices are deeply discounted, with the best deals within a month of travel. Their prices to Las Vegas are unbeatable. Multi-park Hopper passes to Universal Studios are the lowest anywhere (I did a lot of research before our trip to Orlando in June). Prices on cruises are a mixed bag. You'll come across unbelievably low prices occasionally; but be aware their prices on bookings made 3 months out or more are not always competative. Do your homework, and know in advance what you want. The lowest prices on cruises tend to be in the off season (September through early December, and again January through March).
As you can tell, I was happy with Ticket Wicket's service. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone willing to do a little price checking in advance. Overall, I believe their prices are excellent. Their website is easy to navigate and contacting their offices is not a problem.
