If you get DSL, go to dslreports.com (“tools” section) and test your connection. You might be surprised how much speed you can gain by some simple registry changes.

The MRU hack is nice (Reply to this comment)

When I applied this to my Win98SE OS, my connection went from 600K to 1.1M...

To verify this, I went to a FTP site and did a download and sure enough, it measured around 1.1M

It was very nice...

Strange, when I go to the product page it says: "You've written a review on this topic. You may write another review on this topic."

Retired topic? (Reply to this comment)

This is weird. I was going to post an article on the slightly weird DSL setup that I have, but the main topic's page says that "How to Use DSL" is a retired topic. Do you know if Epinions will start accepting new posts on this again?

I used to have free DSL, since my employer provided it. But in general, prices range from $39 to $100+

Price per month (Reply to this comment)

Not sure if I missed it or not, but I didn't see if you listed a monthly price. It sounds great, but you are right some locations just don't have it. ...mzrizz
