| KMINER's Full Review: Woolite Oxy Deep Cleaner |
Our last house had all hardwood floors, so I excelled in my mopping skills. Having in the past few months bought a house with mostly hardwood, I figured it would be easy to keep clean. I didn't anticipate the 2 carpeted rooms - our upstairs family room and our downstairs den. Upstairs is a very nice, newer looking light green carpet (thicker shag) that looked in pretty good condition with slight dirt stain "drips" on it. The downstairs carpeting was a lot older, not in great looking condition (pet and dirt stains) and looked okay for now, but would need to be replaced.
Some might say I obsess over these 2 carpets - I just want them clean. Our first issue was our geriatric dog, who took to using both carpets when we first moved in as her personal bathroom. Our second issue was all the of rainy days and Southern red clay mud their paws kept tracking in the house. Quickly I learned I needed something for immediate pet stain removal, as well as a cleaning product to help get out dirt. Ideally I wanted to find a product that might help with older, before-we-moved-in stains as well.
I went on-line to read about affordable carpet cleaning products, and read high reviews of Woolite Oxy Deep Cleaner and so it was this product that I looked for on the shelves on my local Walmart. After reading the back of the packaging as well, I gladly took this product home and began to use.

I know that's a lot of information to take in, but I personally like to read a lot (if I can) about my cleaning product before I use it, etc ... especially if it's something with specific instructions and/or precautions.
I followed the directions to the letter, and began to use this product on both the new and the old stains found on the 2 different types and colored carpets we now owned. I have used most of the bottle since the purchase and feel like I have given it a "fair shot" before forming my final thoughts on Woolite Oxy Deep Cleaner ...
There's nothing seriously "wrong" with Woolite Oxy Deep Cleaner. I was able to use this spray bottle easily enough - a soft, white foam came out each time I sprayed and easily hit the carpet. It sprayed nice, and one of the first things I really noticed was the smell ... a nice, "clean" soapy smell that I really liked. So I sprayed, waited, blotted, rubbed, etc. And each new stain really did look "better", "lighter", "almost gone", or "gone" depending on the stain. I didn't really find this product to work that well on set in stains that were already on the carpet when we moved in (one can hope though, no? It was worth a shot ...)
I probably would be totally thrilled if it weren't for one thing ... I really really want my carpets clean. Not just the stain "mostly gone" or looking better - I want great looking carpets ... to the point where I've pretty much resigned myself to having to buy some time in the hopefully near future a carpet cleaning machine to have in the home. I just can't get out any "already here" stains - though it works wonders on any new dirt or pet stain that we've made since moving in.
Though I was hoping that a simple to use spray cleaner would get my carpets looking wonderful, I feel this carpet cleaner really does attempt to work to get out stains ... it's just not the only carpet product I use.
