Detergent Tip - I agree, great review! (Reply to this comment)

If you want the best bang for your buck, go to Sears and buy their branded detergent. It comes in a 5 or 10 gallon bucket; I can't remember the exact size but it is one of the two. Anyhow, it normally costs about $15 but they do run sales occasionally on that price. This detergent lasts a good long time. I do laundry for a family of four that includes one teenager who changes frequently between school and a restaurant job, an elementary school child into everything, and most importantly a husband that works in underground construction. Hubby comes home daily with dirt and grime like clay, deep dark dirt, oils, grime, and other dirty stuff from his job. I wash at least one load of clothes every day to every other day. This is great detergent at an affordable price even if it is an HE detergent.

I bought the Kenmore washer and dryer set in the HE3T. Recently, I found out that in order to get the same features on my machine, one has to buy the HE4T and even with that one, it doesn't include one or two features that came with my 3T machine. I'm so thankful I needed a new set when I did in order to get all those features. I use every feature within a week's time including the hand-washing one. This machine really does save me a fortune in water and utility costs. It saves a considerable amount since I live in the city limits and have city water and sewage. You are absolutely correct and I agree completely with your opinion of the front loader lines of washer and dryers. The heavy spin cycle saves me a ton of drying time.

The longest cycle on my Kenmore washing machine is actually around three hours but that is using the Sanitary Cycle, which I do use to wash my dog's bed. I use the Whitest Whites to do towels, washcloths, and other white clothing. That cycle runs about an hour to a little over if I use the pretreat, stain remover, or second rinse options. It still saves money compared to the former top loader.

Added Note Regarding First-Time Using a Front Loader Washer: The sales lady that helped with my purchase recommended not adding detergent to the first run of each clothes going through the front loader. This was because of all the detergent that the top loaders do not remove. Sure enough, when washing our clothes that first time in the new machine, the front loader sudsed up and spent extra time rinsing from detergent left in the clothes from the top loader.

Great review!
