When my husband and I moved into our house we were not able to get regular cable so we decided to go with the dish.
The installation was easy and fast well of course we called someone to do that he he.
We've had direct TV for 3 months one in the living room and one in our bedroom. I went to watch TV and it didn't work just a black picture so I called customer service and the wait wasn't long. I told them what was going on and they tell me it isn't connected to a phone line. A phone line huh? No one told us this. He was real short with me and rude. So I had my husband call and the same thing just rude and not getting to the point. They said they turn it off when it isn't connected to a phone line, my husband continually said why does it need to be connected to a phone line? She couldn't give an answer just told us that if we don't get it connected to a phone line in 3 days they were shutting it off. My husband then said fine we will get the phone line.
A few days go by we get it all hooked up and call in this person we talked to was wonderful straight to the point and explained everything on why we need 2 lines hooked up. Everything was fixed in a matter of minutes.
So what we don't understand is why didn't anyone tell us this? Why didn't we received a letter telling us it was going to get turned off?
All in all we like the service it costs about the same as having regular cable.
