| SmrfChic's Full Review: Champion Full Support Bra |
After trying on dozens of so-called sports bras and none of them passing the "bounce test", I was about ready to give up. I honestly didn't think I could find a bra that would fit my list of stringent requirements. Then I found the Champion Natural Contour 3-Dimensional Fit Intense Activity Motion Control sports bra.
What did I want in a sports bra?
I wanted it to have separate cups, and not give me uniboob.
I wanted it to have an adjustable band.
I wanted it to have a sports back so I wouldn't have to deal with strap slippage.
I wanted it to have adjustable shoulder straps.
I wanted it to pass the bounce test.
Bounce test?? Any large-breasted woman knows what I'm talking about. You need a sports bra that actually supports and holds your breasts still. It quite simply hurts to have your ta-tas flapping around like you have bowling balls stuffed under your skin. Jokes about black eyes aside, it is uncomfortable and makes you shy away from running or working out intensely. So, whenever I try on a sports bra... the bounce test applies. If I bounce, does it hurt? If I jog in place, does it hurt? If I run in place, does it hurt? Time and again, bras had failed that test. I'd bounce, the boobs would ache, and the bra would go back on the rack.
I was getting desperate. I wanted a bra that would work for me, so that I could go jogging, or try out an aerobics class, or do something other than sitting on my tush and bemoaning my ever widening hindquarters. I tried searching online, but every bra that I came across that seemed to offer a glimmer of hope was out of stock, backordered, or discontinued.
Then, I decided to try Chick's Sporting Goods. I tend to shy away from that store because it's pricey, the salespeople aren't overly helpful, and there are no shopping carts (which is important to a mom with several children). I grabbed three different sports bras and headed to the dressing room. I tried the first bra on. Bounced. It went back on the hanger. Then I tried on the
Champion Natural Contour 3-Dimensional Fit Intense Activity Motion Control. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it because it did NOT have the sports back I was looking for... but I bounced. I smiled. I jogged in place. I smiled more. I jumped, ran in place, and did a little boogie (which made my 3 year old erupt in gales of laughter). I didn't even bother trying on that 3rd bra. I put my clothes back on, marched up to the cash register, and bought this bra without even looking at the price tag.
The Champion Natural Contour 3-Dimensional Fit Intense Activity Motion Control has the following features:
Great for Full Figures (C-DD).
Adjustable straps with velcro, not slidey clips.
Adjustable band with 3 sets of 2-hook & eye closures, and the fabric snaps shut with plastic snaps over the hook & eyes, so that you can wear it as a sports top without a shirt over top.
Maximum support, full inner bra.
Secure breast motion control, non-stretch molded cups.
Moisture management, CoolMax polyester rib band.
Ultimate support, comfort, & fit, 14% Lycra Spandex.
Thank you, oh Lord of Women's Undergarments, for granting my prayers. I humbly apologize for questioning your existence, but now I am a believer. You have led me to the Champion Natural Contour 3-Dimensional Fit Intense Activity Motion Control and for this I am forever your humble servant. Amen.
