| shepinions's Full Review: General Reviews of Sprint Customer Service |
After completing a contract with AT&T, I was looking for a service plan that suited my tendency to go over my minutes. Sprint offers a "Fair & Flexible" plan allowing several 50 minute increments at $5 each over your stated plan. Sprint also offers some nice-looking cheap and free phones. I particularly was interested in the Nokia VI-3155i, which was available for $9.99 after instant rebates. I ordered it on Monday, November 4th. The email invoice specifically said to contact Sprint if the phone did not arrive in four days, and so I contacted them on Friday the 8th. It turned out that the phone was back-ordered. Since they were unable to tell me when it was expected to come in, I canceled the order. I scolded them for having already charged my credit card, and requested it be refunded. The Sprint employee kept saying, "it will show up as a debit on your invoice." I tried correcting him, saying, "You mean credit?" After he said debit several times, I gave up thinking he was stupid, and ended the call.
The following Monday I received an invoice for service between September 25-October 24. I contacted Sprint and made the following points to TWELVE separate Sprint employees:
1) There is a 14-day money back guarantee.
2) I never received a telephone.
3) I was not a customer in September or October, so why am I charged for it?
4) Why hasn't my debit card been credited for the phone Sprint didn't even have in stock?
5) How dare you threaten me with the $150 early termination fee!?
Finally, after over a hour on the phone with Sprint, being put on hold and transferred back and forth between departments, someone was able to help me. I was near-tears. Of all the people I'd talked to, only two had taken notes in their system. One of them stated I had hung up on him. What REALLY happened was that my phone battery DIED I was on hold for so long. If someone had just noted my problem, I wouldn't have had to repeat myself so many times fruitlessly to so many people. Anyway, finally this lady "pulled strings" to zero my account and had another woman in the finances department credit my debit card. However, THERE IS A CATCH. The finances woman suggests I keep an eye out for the next invoice, as I may have to call Sprint again when I get my November bill.
AHHHHHHHHHghrhHHH!
I got a land line and live happily ever after.
