What can I say, it was love at first bite ... err ... sip
I had my first taste of Vamp, the energy drink, when I saw a bottle of it at Hot Topic. I will make no excuses or say that someone recommended it to me - no, it was an impulse purchase based solely on the design on the can. After I had the first sip, I was hooked and that’s when I hit the website to see what other tasty beverages they brewed. I’m not a wine drinker, that much I will say up front but I do have to say that the three varieties that I have purchased through the site have had incredible tastes. Now, if you are a wine connoisseur you might try this and think it tastes like swill ... my palette isn’t refined, sipping wine never invokes me to say things like “it tastes nutty” or “woody” and I am lucky if I can tell the difference between a blush, red or white most of the time. Any wine recommendations that people give me go over my head and when I have to pick out a bottle for a dinner event the person at the liquor store runs and hides because he knows that I am going to be there a while asking all sorts of questions.
On a side note, this company shouldn’t be confused with another “vampire wine” company that operates out of Sighisoara, Romania. These are two different organizations although everyone that I talked to has nothing but great things to say about either of their products.
The website sells a lot of different things; wines, energy drinks, clothing - you get the idea. Finding Vamp in this somewhat sheltered city is almost impossible so when I got an email saying that they were offering a great deal on a 24 can / one case order [with free shipping] I jumped on it. They are still running this same offer so you can get 24 cans for $48.00 - that comes out to two bucks a can, almost the same price you would pay retail but at least this way you don’t have to run around looking for it. [They also have a great deal on the Dracula / Drac energy drink]. Besides that, the shock factor alone is worth it - imagine having a guest open the fridge to see these on the bottom shelf or in the door compartment. Ordering is easy, when you hit the main page you can explore that different areas of the site or go straight to the shopping area. This opens into a new window so if you want to go through and get more information on things, you still have the original window open.
The real draw to the site comes from people who are deep into all things vampire related. The wines are imported from Transylvania, grapes are harvested from several different vineyards [Recas Vineyard being the biggest] so they have a most unique taste to them. The Cabernet Sauvignon is nice but hey, I am not a wine expert so it might be down right awful stuff and I wouldn’t know it. I ordered bottles of the Pinot Grigio and Merlot to give as gifts for Halloween and the people that received them were more than intrigued by the bottles and label - so much so that they really had to deliberate as to whether to open them and sample the wine or save them. They also have vodka, clothing and other vamp related merchandise at the site along with descriptions and information about the things that they sell. All of the orders I placed arrived before they were scheduled to, were packed perfectly and were 100% correct. If you can’t find this stuff locally, be it the wine or the energy drinks, going through the website is a great alternative.

Payment Options
The site currently accepts American Express, MasterCard and Visa for purchases. They will ship within the United States, if you live outside the U.S.A., there are links at the bottom of the page for you to use so that you can order and receive shipments from them. So far I haven’t had any problems with placing orders, getting them approved from my credit card company and the total charged to me was exactly what I’d received in my order confirmation email.
Return Policy
Returns are handled on a case by case situation; if you received something incorrectly they will work as quickly as possibly to rectify the situation. If you need to make a return contact their customer service department via the on site form or by calling their toll free number. I have never had cause to make a return so I can’t comment on the way that they are handled. Friends who have since ordered from the company received the same stellar service that I did when I ordered but it is nice to know that customer service is there if they are needed.
Shipping Fees
The energy drinks, bottles of wine and even the vodka that they carry are all shipped via the least expensive way possible. Your shipping fees are calculated according to where you live, weight and size of the shipment and all of this information is available before you place an order, visible in your cyber shopping cart. I always try to take advantage of the free shipping offers that they have but even when I have to pay shipping, it isn’t something that negates making the purchase in the first place. Wine and spirits from Transylvania Importers are available in selected locations so be sure to check the website first to see if there is a place close to you that sells Vampire Wine, Vampire Vodka or any of their other bottled spirits.
The Bottom Line
When ever I have had the need to call this company to ask about a product I was treated with the utmost respect even though I am a wine moron. This really says a lot for the company as a whole and is one of the many reasons that I recommend this site to people who are into wine and spirits. The prices aren’t outrageous, their products taste divine and the shock factor of some of their products is priceless. I won’t go so far as to say that this is going to be the best tasting or most impressive wine coming out of the 90210 zip code but you can bet your bottom dollar it is one of the most unique. If you are a wine enthusiast I strong urge you to check out the website and see if there are any blends that intrigue you, since more and more stores are carrying the Transylvania Importers products it is a great way to get some information about them before you start to narrow down your selection.
