The Bottom Line Cabbage, onions tomatoes and fruit; the more you eat, the more you toot! The more you toot, the worse you'll smell, so skip this diet and I won't tell.

I tried this cabbage soup diet - once. I do have to admit that it really did work for me. Also, I found the soup to be tasty. Bear in mind that I tried this diet years ago - 20 to be exact. The regimen of the program may have changed, somewhat, but it's probably still close to the diet that I followed. The first day you eat as much fruit as you want, except bananas. Between your fruity meals, you eat as much cabbage soup as you can hold. The soup is made with cabbage, tomatoes, onions, celery (I hate it, so I left this out). The next day is vegetable day, with the soup. You even get to have a baked potato for supper, with butter! The third day is fruits and vegetables and soup. The fourth day is bananas and milk - yuk! and soup. To be perfectly honest - this is as far as I got. By the fourth day, I had lost 7 pounds, and I was happy with that. Also, I was beginning to feel socially deprived. You see, when one eats through the entire produce section of the grocery store, there are certain side effects one must expect. Throw in the onions in the cabbage soup, and you have good reason for isolation. NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE can stand to be in the same room with you. I know that fruits and vegetables are good for digestion and help reduce our risk of cancer, etc., but too much of a good thing will leave your belly so full of gas that you really could float! So, unless you plan to be stranded on a desert island, don't try this diet.
