rlochow's Full Review: Canon PIXMAŽ MP610 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The good features of this machine are almost nullified by its excessive warm-up time, which is around a full minute -- an eternity in a busy office. You can adjust the amount of time the machine waits to go to standby mode, but the maximum setting is three minutes. Thus, say you go to make a copy, put it in, and press Start. You'll wait a full minute for the machine to become available. And if you come back even only five minutes later, you'll go through the same thing again -- another full minute of waiting before it'll work.
The way it handles collation is also counterintuitive, to say the least. The default setting for collation, in complete contradiction to common experience, is OFF. Say you need three copies of a five-page document. If you put them in the machine's feeder and unwittingly press Start, it will give you pages 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, and so on. This is desirable in perhaps one job out of five hundred.
The machine is reliable, and does make good copies. But it is so user-unfriendly that it's a pain to use. I rue the day my firm bought it!
