Does lightning really strike twice....It did with Homeclick.com.
My first order was a disaster in itself. I ordered a Vermont Casting s stove at a very good price (that's where they suck you in) of $2,500. It's actually cheaper than that when you don't pay shipping (if it ever happens) and sales tax.
Well, after several calls (emails are never answered) to them and WEEKS later (much longer than the 1-2 week lead time they promised) I received a completely damaged stove. The delivery guy was nice and helpful. He says about 50% of his deliveries are for Homeclick.com and more than 1/2 of those have problems and/or damage. Needless to say, I refused the delivery.
Eight weeks after my order was placed I finally received a stove that was not damaged. It came from the manufacturer. Apparently they do not stock products, they only have damaged ones to send out to appease people.
Then, I noticed the adapter to fit the piping was not included. I called several fireplace shops and they told me they'd have to special order it. I thought that maybe Homeclick.com would not be so stupid as to do me wrong again. So, I ordered it through them.
I placed this order over 30 days ago and just called them today to find out they were getting it on the 6th of December (yeah right!). I spoke with Steve at 732-593-3644. He was nice enough to give me his personal number if I have any further questions. How much do you want to bet that I will be calling him in December?
I'd really like to use my wood stove while it is still cold outside. I guess I should not have believed the 1-2 week lead time they promise. I wished I had looked at the other reviews before I ordered. I usually discount people who only ordered once as things will happen. But, they screwed me up twice.
I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HOMECLICK.COM AGAIN!!!
If you are thinking of ordering from them, don't! Please save yourself time, anguish, and even money and go elsewhere....anywhere! I would not recommend them to my enemies much less my friends.
