I chose Fox rent a car near the Phoenix airport because it offered the best price. I assumed that all car rental places are a like. Boy was I wrong.
We pulled up to the rental car building on Jefferson and 24th and I thought we were part of a bad joke. The building is located on a run-down, semi-industrial street and looks like a dingy automotive repair shop from the outside. It is conveniently located next to an Adult "Emporium".
Once inside, it did not get better. The inside was decrepit and dirty with grease stains running up and down the counters. Signs were hanging by one string, lighting was flickering flourescents, etc...
In short, if you have standards about how a car rental agency should appear and you get the heebee jeebee's at places that look like a B-movie bad movie set, then don't rent here. Spend a couple of more dollars per day and rent from a car rental agency that cares just a little bit about their facilities.
The car that we rented was clean, however.
