And here we go again......

The Bottom Line I think people get too picky about things that are nit-picky. What really matters?? I raise my kids to be thankful for what they have, regardless.

I am pregnant with my 3rd son, & having not been an active participant of Epinions for quite some time, I decided to get "back in the swing of things" with this opinion, of all things!
As I have written before, I dressed my other 3 children (I also have a daughter) in plenty of hand-me-downs that were not always the "appropriate" color for their gender. That is, the general public's opinions of what males or females should or should not wear.
Since writing that article, my children have grown up somewhat, as children will do. I don't quite get by with as much lenience in the clothing area as I did when they were smaller! My daughter, now a very outspoken, opinionated (Gee, where does she get that???) almost 7 year old, knows what she likes & what she doesn't like in nearly every area, including clothing choices. Likewise, my 4 & 5 year old sons are very opinionated about their wardrobes. My 4 year old will still wear "babyish" things, such as his Precious Moments socks, etc. He even will let me slide one of his sister's hand-me-down nightshirts or t-shirts past sometimes. My 5 year old, on the other hand.....wants to be make SURE everything he wears is nothing near the vicinity of looking like a girls clothing!
Having gotten rid of much of my baby items frommy 3 older children, we are starting over in many ways with this baby. Not many hand-me-down, especially from his big sister. I already have a small collection of tiny blue things, but we still love hand-me-downs and we will still take them & use them! While this baby is small enough to not complain, you'd better believe I'll dress him in whatever we have, as long as it is nice & clean. Oh, & no flowers or bows.
Toys? That's another deal altogether! All three of my children adore toys of all types, so that one isn't even an issue here. You are as likely to see one of my sons carting around a baby doll, as you are to catch my daughter playing with hotwheels or a truck. It's all the same in that area around here!!
