So far so good

The Bottom Line Stick to the newer B, S, E and C series and you will not be disappointed.
I previously posted a review on the S4546 lifebook that I purchased in June and promised to follow that up 3 months down the road.
So far absolutely no hardware problems and the laptop is a joy to use. I got 5 hours 10 minutes of battery time using the twin battery option (one in my mobile slot and the main battery). I did that about 2 weeks ago whist in hospital taking care of my wife after she had an operation. I was slightly puzzled to read some of the negative reviews on battery life and over heating.
I left the laptop on AC power running my Norton Disk Optimizer last night in a non airconditioned room and I live in a tropical country with an average day temperature of 31 degrees centigrade. As you know, defragmentation generates a lot of heat because the hardrive will be constantly writing and rewriting. Anyway, to cut a long story short, a background program kept the Norton program restarting itself and I didn't check on the laptop until this afternoon, it had been defragmenting for more than 12 hours continuosly without hanging or overheating in a 28 degree temperature room.
I notice that the negative reviews apply to the older generation of Fujitsu laptops. The newer lifebook series has obviously fared better with better designs in their manufacturing. My office mates have been so impressed with the S series that we will be ordering it in as the official office laptop. I have to add that previously we had used IBM Thinkpads, Compaq M700s, Acer Travelmates and Gateways and our jobs take us all over the world... I've been on the road for about 4 months of this year so far to countries ranging from Iran to Geneva to China, so our machines do take a beating.
Just wanted to add my 2cents.
