A couple of things that I want to point out though.
I should have researched this first but I believe that while o is a universal blood type, o negative is rare. o negative people can only receive o negative while other blood types can receive their own, o negative or o positive.
The reason o negative was requested is because it is one of the rarest and probably needed by some of the survivors.
I myself am o negative and was very frustrated that I was unable to donate becuase of medical reasons.
The Red Cross here in NYC have asked for cash only donations. Is your local chapter accepting clothing?
Nice job! Nice to see someone really stick to the subject and address local help tips. You are the first that I have read that ahs done that.
