I first considered RideGear as I shopped around for a pair of gloves. I found the pair I wanted at a price combined with shipping a dollar higher than Tonka -- RideGear said the gloves were "$19.99-24.99" but the RideGear site's product selection said all gloves were at the higher price of the range listed. And yet, my size was not available. On a whim, I clicked over to the "closeout" pages, found the same product at the lowest price listed at the main page ($19.99), and the selection said only my size was there. I guess you'd not want main site to say all sizes were $24 and large was $19, but the whole thing was strange. Still, with shipping, this made for the lowest price anywhere, so I bought.
Then after making the order, I discovered this as one of the only two online motorcycle gear companies listed at epinions. The last review was well, over a year ago, but the variety of experiences from the 20 reviewers were vastly different, with several people in '03 and '04 being very negative. I became concerned, went to their web pages to see how long till my product would be shipped, but the information was not on the product pages. So I contacted customer service the third day after the order to ask how long till it was shipped -- only to get the regular "it has been shipped" email notice with FedEx tracking information that afternoon, and a response from customer service with the same info a bit after that.
The product is due to arrive in a few days, but they are gloves, so I can't expect anything to go wrong.
Rereading some past negative reviews and the details/dates of problems, some of the complainers are not right in head -- overly negative from minor problems, that are fixed with full responses in days.
