Don't know what to do? Dial 911-2001 for help

The Bottom Line Mine is only a small voice calling in the wilderness. But if we all lift our voices in prayer, HELP will be on the way.

CALL 911-2001. It is the prime, active number for a nation's call for help.

Life can never be the same. Never. And yet, with our increased awareness of what is good and true, perhaps life can be even better.

Our freedom was purchased at such an enormous price. How often have we truly been grateful to those whose lives were sacrificed on the altar of war? This month many, many, many more lives were given for US.

What can we do? What can we say?

Well, whatever we do and whatever we say, we can make certain that their lives were not given in vain.

Each of the victims, perhaps, would tell us that we should strive to make this a better world. We should strive to stamp-out prejudices and intolerances. We should strive to overcome hate with love.

"Love one another as I have loved you."

Oh, how hard this is. We have been a nation of fighting for "0ur rights." Often in the light of ridiculous lawsuits. One person's saying he/she has been wronged. And so often at the expense of others.

How wonderful it would be if each of us could graciously accept things which may infringe upon "our" rights. And strive, instead, to look out for the good of others. Help those who are down, rather than condemning them or ignoring them or suing them. Love and respect one another, realizing that different nationalities and/or different religions are not reasons for hate, but, rather, reasons for respect and consideration.

Those brave men in the plane did not think of their own safety, but, instead, thwarted the hijackers' plans by fighting them and diverting them from their initial intents. THEY SHOWED LOVE BEYOND COMPARE! They called 911-2001 and then did their best to help their fellow countrymen, and gave their ALL. May God bless them and those who loved them, and may we NEVER, EVER forget them. If they can look down from where they are, may they never feel that they died in vain.

"Love your enemies as yourselves."

This is even harder. How CAN we love those who perpetrated such an evil deed upon our nation? I don't have the answer to this. I know only that is what the Lord has commanded us to do.

1. I can love them by praying that MY HEART will not be hardened nor filled with hate for them.

2. I can show love by not hating their countrymen, by trying to be a voice that helps to extinguish the awful slurs and threats that others are making against them.

3. I can ONLY PRAY TO GOD to teach me to love like this. It is too hard for a human to achieve this without HIS help.

"Greater Love has no man than this, that a man should lay down his life for his friends."

Many have laid down their lives, as in the past, this very month for us.

Let us CALL 911-2001 for HELP. Let us forever remember that number, that date. A number and date when a nation awoke and, calling for help, was stirred to action.

We are responsible before God only for the circle around us. Let's do what we can.

1. Give blood as we are able.
2. Send money and/or goods as we are able.
3. Fly our flags proudly.
4. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY. Our prayers can travel Worldwide. They DO make a difference.

Now remains FAITH, HOPE & LOVE. But the Greatest of these is L-O-V-E.

May God help us to feel it, show it and learn from it!

My deepest sympathy, regret, sorrow, and gratitude to those who have lost loved ones in this war against our Country. May you reap the marvelous benefits of knowing that it was NOT ALL IN VAIN.
