Sending your oder into a black hole - no follow-up whatsoever

Their website says if you send them e-mail, you'll get a reply within one business day. This is certainly untrue. If your order status on their website says you'll receive a tracking number by e-mail within a day, that is also untrue. There is no semblance of customer support by this merchant. They may seem to have the lowest price, but if you get your item at this price, it may well be at the expense of your patience and sanity.
I ordered a camera bag on 11/14 as a gift for my wife on our anniversary on 11/30. I received a request to call to confirm my order. I did so immediately, confirmed my shipping address and was assured both that the item was in stock and that it would ship within a day.
A week later, the order had not arrived. There was no update on their website of my order status, I received no phone calls about any problems or delay, and got no tracking number sent by e-mail. I checked the contact page of their website which promises a response within one business day and sent an urgent e-mail.
Four e-mails later, I had received no reply to my repeated inquiries. I called them, and after 15 minutes on hold and 3 transfers, they told me they didn't have confirmation of my shipping address. After doing it again, they said my order would be released to the warehouse and be shipped within a day. Their website order status was quickly updated to say my order was in the warehouse and I'd receive a shipping tracking number by e-mail within a day.
A week later and after sending another four e-mails that got no reply, I still had no tracking number, and the website order status hadn't changed. I called again, was hung up on 4 times in a row, then was told they didn't have the item in stock and had called me numerous times (but there was not a single message on my answering machine from them). They had no explanation for ignoring the 8 e-mails I had sent them inquiring about the order status.
Today they say again it will ship within a day and be here in a week. We'll see, but the anniversary is long passed and I'm an extremely disappointed by the customer non-service exhibited by this merchant. I probably place 50 or more on-line orders each year totaling several thousands of dollars. There is no chance of me ever ordering from this merchant again.
