Excellent Phone

Written: Dec 17 '05
The Bottom Line: This phone does exactly what it's meant to do, and it does it perfectly. It's a phone, and it provides you with clear calls; anywhere and everywhere.

I just bought this phone from Cingular, in place of waiting for the Motorola L7. I am glad I did. There aren't many things you could consider "wrong" with this phone. Keep in mind, that's just what it is -- A PHONE. It's not your PDA, MP3 Player, Super Digital Camera, Laptop, and or Cold Fusion reactor. :)

The call quality on this phone is near perfect. The built in MIC could use a small boost in volume. It would be *nice* to have a memory expansion slot, yet it's not required. The only other thing I can think of that it could use is EDGE. No, I am not making a pun here. I am talking about high speed data transfer via EDGE technology. Although, I do find it funny that this phone is called the RAZR and that it does in fact lack EDGE (The technology -- not the kind you shave your face with :-P).

As for the bluetooth functionality; it works great. I successfully paired this phone with my desktop and headset. I am using a Plantronics Voyager 510. Yes, this phone does prompt you to accept any pairing requests, and asks you to verify this request with a pin number. I also haven't noticed any significant battery drain while using the bluetooth feature. Using my desktop I can easily transfer wallpapers, and or other supported file types to the phone. The phone automatically recognizes the file type and prompts you for an action. Also, it won't just accept files, even if it's paired. It will ask you to accept the incoming connection.

I give this phone an 4/5. The next version, V3i, will most likely "fix" any of the CONS this phone "suffers" from.
