Excellent Review (Reply to this comment)

I found this review very helpful. It highlighted the important parts of the diet, while doing a brief, but concise summary.

Body For Life (Reply to this comment)
by tomsgirlbfl
I want to let all you readers know that this program works!!! I did the challenge in 2000 and lost about 60 lbs. My husband and I are doing the challenge this year together and we have both dropped about 17-20 lbs in almost 6 weeks. We have a ton more energy, and muscles are becoming very defined. we have dropped inches galore. You may not look exactly like the winners, but you will define YOUR body if you do the program. You will lose weight, and build muscle, lose fat, and have more energy. YOU will! Period. I have not met one person yet that hasn't made progress on this program. Not only that, but they tell you to focuse on PROGRESS not PERFECTION. Everyone's body is different. As for having unrealistic ideas of looking like the "winners" I personally don't think they are unrealistic, I know people who have transformed their bodies to look like that, by following the program. I also was a support buddy of one of the ladies who won. Now, you may have to do 2 or 3 challenges to look that way, but that depends on how much FAT you have to lose, how hard you train, and how well you take care of your muscles and feed your body. Don't let someone's negative opinion sway you from trying the program, the ONLY thing you have to lose is fat, and weight, and all you have to gain, is self-respect, energy, muscle, positive attitude, and motivation. Go for it, you can do it!!!!

Isn't that a little bit of...how can I say...."nitpickery"? The reviewer didn't mention the book in detail. Perhaps you should think about re-rating.

Great Book...Great Results! (Reply to this comment)

I saw the Body for Life book advertised one day and decided to buy it and see what it was all about. At the time I purchased the book I was not excessively overweight but I definately needed to cut down my body fat and boost my energy level. I have worked in law enforcement since the age of 21 and was 27 at this time. In my line of work it pays to be in the best possible condition. I started on the workout and got totally addicted to it. It wasn't no time that I was cutting body fat and definately started to tone up my muscles. The workout routine is easy to follow and as stated, the motivation was there. I am now 31 years old and still a firm believer and user of the program. In my opinion it is the best all around program going and have recommended it to everyone that expresses interest in workout programs.
As far as presentation, motivation and promotion of good health, I give this book and program a BIG A+ and if you havent tried it, I highly recommend you give it a shot.

Kris,
For what it's worth, I thought you did a nice job of covering the diet, and didn't focus on the book other than to explain how they introduce the diet and what its focus is. I learned a great deal about the diet (not the book) from this review -- so to me it was VERY helpful! :)

Sorry about the rating (Reply to this comment)

You placed this under the health plan as opposed to the book. If you delete from this section and place under the book or remove the references to the book, please send me the link and I'll rerate it.They have Body for Life, the book, which obviously needs to discuss how well the book was written, the chapters, etc. or under health and just discuss the diet program.
