Admittedly I am still in the midst of dealing with the company, but I thought I would let you know what is happening "on the fly," or rather on the crawl.
First, let me say that the website was easy to use. The site was simple to navigate. I ordered the ink, and let it go at that. The company's website states, "On average your order will be shipped the next business day with an estimated delivery of 4-7 business days."
I received notification that the package was shipped fairly quickly. At the end of the 8th business day I checked the status of the package.
Before you jump me, I understand that the company has no control over what USPS does with the package. But the reply to me said that the package was turned over to USPS "which has an average shipping period of seven to ten business days." That doesn't match what they start out telling you on their site.
Now I understand that it is the holiday season and that delays can be expected. I wrote back to 123Inkjets, pointing out the difference in the estimated shipping times listed on the website and in their correspondence. That could be considered misleading, or at least not very professional.
Their response to me started with the statement, "I do know that its (sic) says that on the website but. . ."
The rep then told me that if I have not received the package in two more weeks I should contact them again, not even addressing the point I made in my e-mail -- that they need to get their customer service people and sales people on the same page.
I'm trying to keep a good attitude about this, and am hoping the ink is the quality I am expecting, but I'm beginning to get leery. I'll keep you posted.
=======================
The ink arrived two days after my dealings with customer service.
Let me first say that packaging was good. The product arrived in good condition. Charges listed on the invoice were exactly what was agreed upon.
Installing the cartridge was just fine, it fit the printer and operates with no problems.
I've just printed a few pages, so I can't give a complete review yet, but it seems to me that the ink is lighter than that provided by Dell itself in their cartridges. I don't know if it's just my perception at this time, but even at higher print quality the page appears somewhat faded. I don't know if there are different grades of ink, but if there are it would appear at first blush that this is a lower grade than I had been using. Give me a day or two to pull out some documents and make a comparison, but at this point I will upgrade my overall rating of the company from a 2 to a 3. Average. But my caveats would be to read the reviews here carefully and expect to get a fast response from customer service, but not on that will necessarily address the issues that you bring up in your correspondence. Delivery was slower than promised, but part of that was due to the holidays. I also thought that there was going to be "confirmed delivery, but the ink was just left in my mailbox.
I'll have to wait for a closer examination of print quality to tell you for sure, but I'll probably try them again, but I sure won't wait until ink is running low. I'll keep you posted about print quality at the beginning of next week!
