The Bottom Line: If you want a low cost intro to digital photography and printing- this is a great place to start

We paired this with a Samsung 402 digital camera. This printer, for the money, is very nice. I've been disappointed with Epson products in the past, but these prints are clear, accurate, and hassle free. My eight-year old can operate it with no problems. You do not need a computer to use this printer, which breaks the myth that digital photography is too difficult to set up and get prints quickly. Just insert the memory card, and the photos are ready to print. The replacement ink cartridge is relatively cheap ($30 or so), and is easy to find and install. We used this printer to print our family holiday photo, and our friends cannot believe it was produced "in house" (literally, pardon the pun). You can print thumbnail prints before wasting ink and paper on regular size prints. My only complaint is that you have to make sure you have enough ink, paper, and available memory on hand before beginning a photo project. Not Epson's fault, though. This is the first photo printer we've had that almost convinces me to get rid of all of our film cameras. We'll be saving hundreds in processing costs in the years to come.
