After reading mostly positive reviews (and seeing no negatives in the last year) I decided to pick ProFeel to by a Minolta Maxxum 5D (review posted elsewhere on this site).
Purchase through the site was easy enough, placed the order Saturday morning, received two email messages - the first, later that day, stating that the order had been received and was in a 'pending' state, requiring confirmation, and that they would contact me.
I was fearing a hard-sell, but was pleasantly surprised to later see another email the next morning (Sunday) stating they had shipped the package, and I would be receving a confirmation number separately.
The second email message also asked that I write a 5-star review (before the package even shipped) on this site. I was a little annoyed by this, but in the end, since I spent so much time here deciding whether to do business with them, I figured I should write some sort of review one way or the other.
We realized Sunday morning that we wanted to change the shipping address, so we called and spoke with the folks at ProFeel - they were pleasant enough - no upsell attempts or anything of that nature. Asked if they could change the shipping arrangement to a different address, they said the item has already shipped, however they weren't able to provide the tracking number (grrr). Never received any follow-up from them.
Turns out they sat on my order all day Monday. It finally went out UPS late that night. I'm a bit unhappy that they could have changed the shipping info on Sunday after we called, or even well into Monday since they still physically had posession of the package.
UPS sent the tracking number, not ProFeel, and I nearly deleted it because I didn't know who "Quantum View" is. I was pleased to see that there were no inventory games or any of the other problems so many have reported with other online outfits.
The package arrived on the date promised (at the original shipping address), was well-packed, and once opened was in factory-perfect condition.
I didn't have to involve myself with their return policy, since my product is fine, but with the exception of televisions, it seems very fair and reasonable: inspect your merchandise immediately, and if there's a problem, get the product back to them within 10 business days, after calling, of course.
My only complaint was their lack of flexibility or willingness to accommodate changes. These folks are clearly geared towards straightforward types of transactions -- I'm sure it's in part how they keep their prices low.
Update: 1/5 - I was making a copy of my invoice to turn in for my rebate, and realized that ProFeel shipped me an item that they didn't charge for. I decided to the right thing and call customer service and offer to pay for it.
I was never able to make contact with a live person after three phone call attempts, and finally just left a message as they suggested. Three days have gone by, and nobody has returned my call.
If I can't get them to call me back when I owe them $100, I can't imagine what it'd be like if they owed me $100.
