Pros: The price is excellent for a PIII system.
Cons: The 3.5 floppy and DVD ROM share a docking bay.
The Bottom Line: This a great students machine, or non-CAD business machine. Up to 8 hours on battery power!

| robgalaviz's Full Review: Dell Inspiron 3800 C500ST |
I purchased my Dell after researching price and value in traditional retail systems (Compaq, Sony, IBM, etc). The deciding factor ended up being a promotion Dell ran including a free extra battery, free shipping and a DVD upgrade. The machine has been running the game Black and white with absolute stability, which says a lot for a laptop. It comes loaded with Win ME and MS Works, plus Word. They even tossed in Quicken for free.
The Cons as listed above are not horrible offenses, just cost savers for Dell. It would be nice to have the drives built in.
