Overall a Good Experience With a Few Drawbacks

I like Overstock.com for music, books, DVDs, jewelry, shoes housewares, and clothes. The delivery is fast, shipping and handling is insanely low and the prices are usually lower than most other online sellers and brick and mortar stores.
I've used their online customer service "chat" and it's effective enough and the customer product reviews, when there are any, are very helpful.
Electronics and appliances however, are a crap shoot. I purchased a new parabolic heater from them that never worked and when they told me they expected me to pay the shipping and handling AND a restocking fee, I just threw it in the trash. (What were they going to restock? It didn't work...were they going to try to sell the same non-working unit to someone else?) This year I purchased a set of two new bug zappers and one of them burned out the 2nd day of use. They would not let me keep the one that worked stating that I had purchased a set and had to return the set to get a refund. These were returned and I paid the restocking and S&H out of pocket.
I did however, get my Ipod from them and haven't had a single problem with it.
My advice, if they have that item you've been looking for at a great price, buy it from them but keep in mind if you have to return something, you're responsible for the expenses.
