I lost $30!

Watch out- Wisetronics can't be trusted! They also go by the name "A1 Plasma TV" on epinions- the link takes you to wisetronics. I lost out on a $30 rebate due to their lies. I found them using epinions, went for low price, although did check these guys out on BBBonline (not listed there) and the New York BBB (had a good track record here). The Sony DSC-P200 camera I wanted was listed as "in stock" on the epinions store list and was also shown as "in stock" on wisetronics.com during my ordering process and was shown as "will be shipped within 24-48 hours". Three days after my online order I received an email telling me to call wisetronics at a specific extension. The call was answered immediately, but when I told them why I had called, I was placed on hold for 10 minutes. This same scenario has occurred three times since- once they find out you have a problem, you get sent to the "penalty box". I was told they needed to verify my credit card security number, then was given a sales pitch to buy lots of accessories. I declined, then inquired as to the shipping date. "It's now out of stock, but soon...". Over the next two weeks, each time I checked the status of my order online, it was shown as "pending". An email inquiry was answered simply as "that means it's on back order". The final phone call, three weeks after my purchase date, revealed that the camera would now be out of stock for another month- putting it's arrival date at least 3 weeks after the $30 rebate had to be postmarked to Sony. So, I canceled and ordered from another store (the rebate is no longer available, so the camera cost me $30 more). During that process, I found out that the "A1 Plasma TV" link on epinions takes you to the Wisetronics website, where the camera I discussed above is shown as "in stock" and promises a big rebate. But, when you click on the rebate link, you'll find that the rebate ended three weeks ago- the lies never end!! They never charged my credit card, but the whole experience was so shady, I called my bank, canceled my credit card number and had them issue a new one.
