Don't Live In Fear

The Bottom Line We cannot be scared of a lizard eatin', towel headed evil idiot!

I know of no individual that was not affected emotionally by the tragic events that unfolded on September 11. An act of terror seems to have the desired effect that the terrorist seeked in that it instilled fear upon the American public. They cannot win unless you let them win, and it is my firm belief that these terrorist will lose this battle.

When viewed upon based on shock value, they achieved their goal, as they achieved the attention that they wanted. However, in the overall scheme of things, the attention that they achieved now brought them unwanted attention. They have brought upon themselves the ire of every civilized country in the world. This will mean that from this date forward, they will constantly be living themselves in fear and parnoia. So, in a sense, the effect of these attacks will instill fear among the followers of these religious zealots. Osama bin Landen respect among his followers might just have taken a nose dive.

What can the American public do to reverse the subsquent affects? The answer is quite simple, go on with life as usual! If you have a chance, take a plane trip. If you want to take a weekend trip by car, by all means do so. I, myself will be flying next week. Am I a little apprensive? Sure. Am I scared? No, because I am well aware that the security at the airport is the highest it has ever been. Spend money on that little luxury that you have been thinking about and quit worrying!

It is highly unlikely that another attack of this magnitude will ever be likely to be pulled off by this terrorist group ever again. Face it, people, this attack took several years to plan, and they do not have the resources, and the support to pull off another attack. They will be hiding under a rock, out in the desert when the Americans come calling. They will be shaking in their boots, and the followers of bin Laden will come to the conclusion that their leader ain't quite as wise, nor as religious as his recruiters present him to be.

As cruel as this might sound, unless you have family or friends killed or injured in the attack, it really does not affect you one bit. Granted, I grieve for the victims of the attack, and I have sympathy for the people affected by the trickle down effect cause by these acts, such as the airline industry, and the general public. However, if I change my life prior to these attacks in any way, shape or form, then the terrorist win, and I for one, am not going to be brow beaten by a small gang of extremist thugs.
