| diego7979's Full Review: Palm IIIe Personal Organizer |
To keep it short and simple I am going to tell you that this is a great deal if you are looking for a PDA. It this is your first time even dealing with a PDA, you will never want to have anything less.
I started my love affair with PDAs (Personal Digitized Assistant) when I got the original Palm Pilot from a friend. Wow is all I can say. I was able to keep my life in order, keep all my phone numbers and play games! What could be better? That’s when I got a IIIe! The IIIe is a good palm for the money that is easy to use and is well constructed.
First, is the price. Since the company (Palm) stopped making the IIIe, the price keeps dropping on it. But, it is also getting harder and harder to find. I would say that if you find one, it will be $130 or less. Its closest brother in the Palm family is the IIIxe, which is the same thing, just more memory. The price on the IIIxe is about $150 on sale so it will work for you too. But, the IIIe is great for the price.
The Palm OS (Operating System) is a platform that lots of the PDAs use. Why do they use it? It is extremely easy top learn. It was designed to be as close to the paper form of an organizer as it could be and Palm did a great job at it! No wonder it is so easy!
The last part about it is the construction. This little unit can stand a good beating and keep on ticking. I have dropped it, kicked it, stepped on it, ect.... and it keeps on going. I think that if it can take me beating on it like that, it can withstand a careful person using it!
Overall, this is the one to buy if you can find it. It is a great price, real easy to use and is built to last!
