| gaelkm's Full Review: Lysol All Purpose Cleaner With Bleach |
I love Lysol products and have for years. When we were growing up, my Mom would use "Lysol Disinfectant Spray" in our bedrooms if we had colds to kill germs and prevent them from spreading. Now I use Lysol Disinfectant for that same reason. It's also a product name I trust.
This new Lysol All Purpose Cleaner with Bleach is impressive. When I use it to clean an area, not only does it clean, it also kills any lingering germs and disinfects the area. It feels good knowing that the area is not just clean, but disinfected as well. I use it in my kitchen when something falls on the floor. Just the other day, I noticed that some juice had dripped near the refrigerator. After wiping it up with a damp paper towel, I used Lysol Disinfectant with Bleach to make sure there was no lingering sugar or stickiness that might attract ants (I really believe that California is just one gigantic anthill sometimes!)
I purchased this product specifically a few months ago because I'd discovered that my neighbors hot water heater was leaking into our bathroom (we share a common wall in our condos). Black mold was forming down in the corner -- an area behind the toilet where the wall and floor were wet. This was scary. I had heard horror stories of people becoming very sick when living near mold. Before the repairs were done, I sprayed on some Lysol All Purpose Cleaner with Bleach, and the mold and mildew were history! After the plumbing repairs were done, the walls were checked again, but Lysol had come to our rescue getting rid of that health hazard. It really set my mind at ease that all the nasty mold was gone and would not come back.
This is a terrific product for use on numerous hard surfaces, even in the toilet bowl. I've used it in the shower to remove soap scum. There are also a couple of spots in the shower that have gotten slightly mildewy before and I use the Lysol on them to keep the mildew under control. It also cleans the grout in the shower. I tend to use this product on tough to clean areas most often, since it is such a strong cleaner and disinfectant. It also does smell somewhat like bleach, so be sure to keep the area you are cleaning well-ventilated. This is a white plastic bottle with trigger handle. The plastic nozzle twists to an OFF position and a SPRAY position (There is no "Stream" setting). I also use this to clean the exterior of my refrigerator and other appliances.
Kills mold and mildew, including "salmonella choleraesius, staphylococcus aureus, trichophyton mentagrophytes (athlete's foot fungus) and Herpes Simplex Virus Types 1 and 2. Removes tough food stains. This product contains no phosphates."
Questions: 800-228-4722 (I might just have to call them to ask how this product kills the athlete's foot fungus and Herpes Simplex Virus!)
