Good information/then book through hotel

Good basic information source, but we don't use them to reserve rooms.

We have used Travelocity on many occasions to book plane flights and hotel rooms. Now we only use it as an information collection tool. Booking directly with the airlines and properties often saves money.
We use the search engine to see ranges of rates for the larger chains. Frequently when we go to the hotel's own web pages, we can find a better rate. Also, we have found lower rates upon check-in. We were able to reverse the charge through our credit card company, as customer service at Travelocity was not helpful.
There is little or no information for independent hotels and motels. The web site is also difficult to navigate and requires re-input of information.
On the plus side, we were able to make a reservation at a Disney property when Disney on-line and on the phone reported a sell out.
