| pilarzmom's Full Review: Febreze NOTICEables |
I love my two indoor cats but admittedly, I could do without their stinky litter box. Sure, I've tried my share of air fresheners but none have satisfactorily dealt with the problem. However, Febreze has come up with an innovative plug-in air freshener, NOTICEables, that really seems to effectively stamp out my litter box odor problem.
What's so new and different about NOTICEables?
Febreze tells us that the problem stems from the fact that our noses adapt to single scent in a short period of time. They have solved this problem by designing an electric air freshener that alternates between two scents so your sense of smell is constantly refreshed.
Features
~Two intensity settings, low and high, for your preferred level of fragrance release.
~Indicator lights on top show which scent is in effect.
~Rotating plug allows you to use either vertical or horizontal outlets.
~Oil lasts for over 30 days.
Febreeze NOTICEables comes in five scent duos:
OUTDOOR: Morning Walk/Cleansing Rain
TROPICAL: Calypso Breeze/Hawaiian Paradise
FLORAL: Jasmine Breeze/Pink Magnolia
VANILLA: Vanilla Refresh/Vanilla Bean
LINEN: Clothesline Breeze/Meadow Songs
If you're not sure what you want to try the starter package with the warmer features "scratch and sniff" panels at the top.
This product is slated to be in stores in February, 2006.
Usage
NOTICEables is very easy to use. Simply take the oil duo, unscrew lids, and insert into warmer until you hear a "click."
Febreze has some common sense warnings for consumers:
Do not use sideways or upside down as oil bottles will leak. Do not place fragrance bottles or caps on finished wood. Keep away from pets. Only use with proper function 120 volt outlets and not with extension cords. Keep warmer away from fabric or flame that might present fire hazard.
My Experiences
I initially was sort of doubtful about this product. I had used other plug-in air fresheners and really didn't find them that refreshing. They were too perfumey and fake and didn't really deal with the litter box odor problem very well. But NOTICEables changed all that.
My cats' litter box is in the laundry room, just off the family room. Not the most ideal place, as it's too close to where the family is most of the time, but due to our home's layout there really isn't anywhere else we could put it. Unfortunately, my cats aren't smart enough to close the door behind them when they do their business, but with NOTICEables working day and night, odor has ceased to be a problem. To say I'm impressed is an understatement.
I initially set the warmer to high but found the scent a bit too strong. So I reset to low. This is better. As I use home fragrance oil in an aroma jar in the kitchen, I really don't want the NOTICEables scent to permeate the whole house, and on low, it doesn't. The scent is enough to neutralize the litter box odor and keep the family room nice and fresh smelling.
One of my concerns is that NOTICEables would be too strong for my kids, who have sensitive noses and often complain about my fragrance oils in the kitchen. They haven't said a thing since I started using it. Even my cats sometimes sneeze when there are allergens in the air and it hasn't caused them any problems either.
Currently I am using the OUTDOOR scent, but I can't really notice when it alternates between the two scents. It just smells fresh and clean, like the outdoors.
Final Thoughts
I am really sold on this product and am very grateful to have been a part of the product launch with Hass MS&L, from whom I received Febreze NOTICEables in exchange for my honest opinion. I will definitely keep this item on my shopping list and continue to buy it in the future.
