| BuyOrLeave's Full Review: Yakima Strap Thang |
I purchased the Yakima Strap Thang for securing a 9ft longboard to a Honda Civic coupe. At first I was skeptical that it would hold but after testing it they actually follow design. Installing the strap thang was very easy, it comes with a connector that fits directly on to your rack and all you do is thread the rubber straps from the end of the rack through the connector and click it into place. Quick and easy for you to get your board off of the car and into the water. As far as durability they have been reliable. I have had these straps for over 4 years now and they do not show any signs of wear and tear. I have taken care in making sure not to store the straps in the car or in any other spot where there is extreme heat. Yes it pays to treat equipment with respect. As far any flaws only thing I can think of is the nylon cover over the strap thang, it just always seems to get in the way when you are trying to tighten down the straps over the board. Maybe they should make a longer cover or get rid of it all together. Last but not least take caution when securing items before you take them out on the freeway, drive around and test it out. I set my max speed limit at 50mph when I have the board attached only because I fear making my $450 board a permanent fixture of a concrete surface.
