Pros: The idea is good.
Cons: Too strong. Bad scents. Leaks. Headaches.
The Bottom Line: Febreze would need to work on this for it to be a thumbs up. The idea is neat, but the product is not.

| CyndiA's Full Review: Febreze NOTICEables |
Ive always really liked Febreze spray, so I was so sure Id love the Febreze Noticeables air freshening machine. What a great idea! You have two scented vials hooked together and fitted in a plug in holder that rotate scents so that you always have a whiff of freshness in your house. Whats not to love about that?
The first thing I noticed about the Febreze package was that the morning walk/cleansing rain vial was leaking. Really, I couldnt help but notice, since the smells were just overpowering. I managed to get the vial upright and washed off, but then my hands were so smelly that I almost gagged. Even after washing my hands, several times, I still smelled like morning walk.
I figured that the oils were just excessive, since I had direct contact. But, I did think Id go with the low setting on the plastic plug in holder. You can select either low or high with a slide button.
When I tried to plug Febreze Noticables in the wall, it wouldnt go in. I tried several outlets. Then, I flipped the thing upside down (I think), and it fit. So, mine went in with the oils on top instead of on the bottom as pictured. This perhaps impacted on the smell level maybe. I dont know. None of my outlets would accept the plug with the vials to the bottom, so thats the only way I could use it.
When the boys came in, they wanted to know what was smelling bad. I told them about the Noticables and that some oil had spilled, but I thought it would be nice in a few hours. Three days later, the whole house was still smelling like a bordello. For sure, these smells are noticeable and certainly not outdoorsy like rain or taking a walk.
I took out the first scents (though they are supposed to be good for 30 days on low) and put in the calypso breeze/Hawaiian paradise vial. I was hoping that these would smell better. I think they were a tad better, but my nose was probably in shock by then. Even with the machine in the kitchen, the first thing I would smell when I woke up in the mornings was Noticeables. Id roll over, open my eyes, and go, Yuck. Whats that smell?
By the fifth day, both boys complained of headaches. I thought perhaps something was going around at school. The younger one was sick enough to be up at night and had to miss a day of school. Then, I thought maybe it was the Febreze oils. I pulled out the scent machine. The smell was still overpowering a day later, so I packed the whole thing up in a zip lock bag. Within a few hours, the smell backed off a little, and both boys were feeling better. And, they are not prone to allergies.
The idea was good here, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, the scents are not pleasant, and they are way over-the-top on intensity. They put me to mind of cheap perfume at the dime store. No one that visited liked the smells at all. Second, I do think that the boys reacted to the oils, and Im now stopped up with fluid in my ears. That would be hard to prove, but Im just certain that the Febreze Noticables caused the rash of sniffles and headaches around here. Finally, the design is flawed. The bottles leak, and the machine doesnt fit well in the sockets. At one point, the whole thing fell out of the plug hole. I dont know how long it took to notice. The smells didnt decrease that I detected, but I saw the thing out of the socket and pushed it back in. One of the boys may have pulled the offending thing out, but they didnt own up to it.
There is no way Id ever use Febreze Noticeables again. Though the company makes great products, this is not a good one at all. I cant even imagine that it made it out of the testing stage. Surely, someone at the company had to notice that this is not working. I cant imagine anyone being impressed or liking the smells.
I would still like to thank Hass MS&L for giving me a chance to try this out. They sent a neat package with a cute theme. The marketing was unique and fun. The only stipulation on being a product tester was that I write an honest review. And, I honestly dont think this is a good product though the idea might work if they toned down the oils and selected scents that were more appealing. As it stands, I cant imagine encouraging anyone to buy this. If they did, I would not want to visit.
