TAKE A LOAD OFF YOUR BARE FEET...GET A SWIFFER SWEEP VAC

Written: Jan 25 '06 (Updated Jan 25 '06)
Pros:It's convenient, no plug in, does not scratch wood, easy clean up.
Cons:Absolutely none.
The Bottom Line: This product can be used easily on a daily basis to keep dust and small debris off your floors and the bottoms of your bare feet.

In the Box:

The box came with an unassembled Swiffer Sweep Vac, 2 twinpacks of Swiffer Dry Cloths and a plug-in charger.

Assembly:

Assembly was simple. The product came in three sections which clipped together…..the handle, mid-section which held the motor and bin and the swivel head. The instructions were easy to follow and the product could be assembled by a small child.

Swiffer’s Claim:

Say good-bye to your broom and dustpan, and meet the new Swiffer Sweep Vac! The Swiffer Sweep Vac is the best of both worlds: the Swiffer dry cloth to pick up fine debris like dirt, dust, and pet hair, paired with a vacuum to pick up larger objects.

Lightweight and compact, the Swiffer Sweep Vac allows you to clean under and around furniture and appliances with ease. In one easy step, Swiffer Sweep Vac gets it all—big and small!

And, of course, it's simple to use. To give your floors a great allover clean, just attach the Swiffer dry cloth to the sweeper head; then use the vacuum.

Swiffer Sweep Vac doesn't require any extra bags. The canister can be removed with the push of a button to easily dispose of dirt and dust.

My Experience:

I first got acquainted with the Swiffer Sweep Vac when I was house-sitting for a friend. She has a cat, a dog and a pair of parrots. She also has Spanish style tile floors throughout her 4,000 square foot beach house. The parrots molted a lot and also tended to get a little messy at meal times so she had bought this product for easy clean-up for this problem.

The sweeper was easy to use, picked up small pieces of carrot, corn and nuts and also took care of cat and dog hair on the floor. I liked it so much that I went out and purchased one when I got home. It worked very well on her tile floors and it was time to test my hard wood floors and slate tile in my bathrooms. It worked superbly, really picking up any small debris in its way.

I use it mostly around my front door…..when the kids walk in they usually bring grass, mud and every thing else they can gather from outside. No problem for the Swiffer to quickly sweep that up also. Because of its swivel head, it is easy to maneuver around and under furniture and even go around corners.

It is also very lightweight and can be started by simply pushing a large button on the top of the handle. The vac part of this Swiffer product is pretty powerful but don’t look to pick up anything more than small debris with it (I would say anything weighing more than a dime) and large items will clog the vacuum pipe as it is quite narrow. It can only be used for clean up of small debris.

The Swiffer Sweep Vac can also be used without the vac to dust the floor under furniture where debris isn’t usually found.

The electrostatic Swiffer Dry Cloths are made of hardy, textured paper which traps dust, crumbs, hair and dirt easily and are disposable. I replace mine about very three full sweepings. They are easy to attach to the swivel base by pinching them into the provided slots to keep them in place.

It is so nice to walk on my floors and not collect pet hair and small debris on the bottoms of my feet. I use the Swiffer once a day and when needed for small messes. Its simple use is so convenient, easy and quick, it is a must around the house.

Swiffer Sweep Vac Maintenance:

After each use the canister should be emptied and the filter cleaned. The canister pops out easily by pressing a small button just above it. I use a damp cloth to unclog the small filter, pop it back in and click the canister easily back on. I also wipe the outer surface down with a damp cloth.

I, personally, only charge my battery when needed. I don’t keep it plugged in all the time. The battery usually lasts through three sweepings and charges up again in about ten minutes.

Last Thoughts:

I don’t know how I did without my Swiffer Sweep Vac. I use it every day and find it so easy to use, no electrical wires and the swivel head make it possible to clean every inch of flooring.

The price was great at $29.95. The 16 count of Swiffer Dust Cloths can be found at any Walmart or prominent grocery store for a meager $2.99. I am so pleased with my purchase. So much so that I have purchased the Carpet Flick also but that’s another story……..
