I am trying to be humorous with this title but it is rather important in my opinion to regularly check your tires to be certain that they are in good condition. You do not want to suffer a flat tire on a road trip or worse yet a blowout while driving. Here are a few tips to keep in mind for tire care. A general rule of thumb that I use for my car tires is that every time I have my oil changed I make it a point to have the tire pressure checked to make sure it is still within the acceptable air pressure levels. Second, it does not hurt to also check it every six weeks at the gas station when you are getting a fill up. It is a good idea to rotate your tires regualrly. A good threshold to use is ten thousand miles. And remember to not only switch sides but to bring the front left to the back right, the back right to the front left, the back left to the front right, and the back right to the front left. This will eliminate any uneven wear on them. Good tire care not only saves fuel, it may save lives too! These are a few things to keep in mind when caring for your car's tires.  |
