Worst Customer Service EVER

Pros: NONE AT ALL
Cons: Longest HOLD times of any cellular service provider. Rudest customer "service" reps.
The Bottom Line: Never use Nextel! They are horrible to deal with and every rep I spoke to was extremely rude and unwilling to accommodate a simple request for help.

All I wanted to do was cancel my contract AFTER my 2-year Agreement was up. I'm moving, and don't have a need for Direct Connect anymore, not to mention the phones are huge and cumbersome and don't have the extra features found in most cell phones. After being told that I could only cancel through a certain type of customer service rep, I held for 25 minutes to no avail. I tried calling right back and held for another 15 minutes before they disconnected me. When I called back yet again, I was told there was no other way around this, that the hold time was over 30 minutes and I should just try calling back at a time before 10am. When asked if it would be easier to go into a Nextel store to cancel my phone, I was rudely told that the store would have to hold, too, and there was nothing he could do to help me except transfer me to the appropriate representative. NOTHING?!? Really? That's hard to believe.
I would NEVER EVER recommend Nextel to anyone and will actually try to dissuade my acquaintances and friends from entering into a contract with these schmucks.
DO NOT USE NEXTEL! THEY DON'T APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS AND ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH! (UNLESS YOU HAVE 8 HOURS A DAY TO BE PUT ON HOLD.) WHICH I DON'T.
