Very unhappy got incomplete seat returned by someone else.

$268 Recaro Young Sport car seat turned to be the previous customer's return and was shipped poorly packed in generic oversized box, with incorrect user manual from another model and a note inside from the previous purchaser that since she could not decide what to buy, she got two and is returning this one for a refund. Apparently, it was too much both for her and for the store that claimed to have inspected everything prior to shipping it out to pack it back into the original box / packaging and to include correct manual (that's how I know she got Recaro Style for her baby - she has switched look-kind-of-alike manuals).
Clearly this box was NOT inspected at all in spite of the company email to the contrary since it still had RMA sticker on it's side, there was only one layer of sealing tape and it was undisturbed till I have opened the box.
What a !@#$% great feeling to buy almost the most expensive seat on the market for the full price and end up with the incomplete and uninspected store return.
Company rep wrote that they "are a very environmental friendly company and woud not rebox an item if not needed to because we do not believe in waisting boxes, paper, aluminum, plastic, etc." (spelled as received - do not blame the messenger) and offered to send an RMA shipper. I guess, in their minds sucker # 3 is forthcoming...
I know what they have done is illegal in my home state of California, but unsure about Michigan, where this store is located. Will have to follow-up on that.
