A short time ago, after going to a friends house to watch my favorite team on his big screen, I decided to set up a home theater system for myself.

After spending hours and hours researching tv's, speakers, receivers, dvd players, and the cable vs. satellite option, I realized that I needed something to protect my investment. If you don't already know what a surge protector does, it basically protects your electronic equipment from increased electrical power surges. These surges are capable of destroying your equipment. I have been using this for over a year, and it seems to be doing the job quite well.

One thing that I like about this is that all of the outlets are labeled and color coded. This comes in handy if for some reason you want to unplug your dvd player. You don't have to start unplugging cords randomly, hoping you have the right one, just unplug the outlet marked dvd and you know you have the right one. The colored labels that go on your cords come in handy when you have multiple cords unplugged. The dvd outlet is red, so mark your dvd cord with the red label. Cd player outlet is blue, blue label on cd cord. (you got the idea) This way, when for whatever reason you may have a bunch of cords unplugged you know which one goes where. This helps a lot, especially if you have a whole "nest" of cords like I do!!
