I have been a member of this website for about 3 years. You can buy and sell trading cards and memorabilia without any listing fees. When you do sell an item they do take a small percentage of the sale. Most of the products on the site are sports related items. They do sell some other non sport trading card items and non sport related memorabilia.
There are some nice advantages of this site over selling on an auction site. No listing fees is great. You can also set your own selling price. A buyer has the option to either accept you selling price or they can make an offer for it. Then you can lower your price or just wait for the card to sell. There is no time limit unless you set one when you list an item.
Once you set up your account you can add funds through Paypal or checking account or credit cards. Once you buy an item the money from your account will be held by Naxcom. Sane thing when you sell an item. After 10-12 days the funds will transfer if there are no problems. If you sold an item and when the funds are added to your account, you can withdraw it or keep it in your account for purchases.
Joining the site is free, they have options to upgrade your account to a VIP member. You have to a be a free member for awhile before you qualify for upgrade. They have different levels for VIP membership. VIP members get extra perks like free front page seller listings. You get paid faster when your item sells. You have a VIP shield next to all your listings for buyers to see. Plus other extra perks like VIP only competitions and promotions.
They have some nice features on the site. They have contest often. Searching for whatever you are looking for is easy. Listing your items is very easy to do. Also keeping track of your account and all your listings and sales is very easy.
For the most part I have not had many problems. There are a few things I would like to warn people about though. They say they have a 100% buyer protection guarantee. I have had a few transactions that went bad. In most cases Naxcom customer care was very helpful and reversed the transaction. Lately though Customer care has been lacking. They have not tried to help as much as they used to. They allowed one seller to get away with selling me the wrong product and did nothing. Also when you look at a sellers info, they have a line that tell you this (No problems/disputes recently reported with this seller. Naxcom offers Buyer Protection when purchasing from this seller). BIG problem with this is that everyones is the same. Members who I have had problems with and I know others have had problems with, say the same thing.
I also do not like that fact that you can not refuse an item from a seller. If you place a buy offer on something anyone can execute that offer. You have no choice if you want to accept the item from that seller or not. I made an offer for a unopened hobby box of basketball cards. Well this seller executed my buy offer and sent me an open already searched box of cards. Naxcom did NOTHING to help me with this seller and he got away with my money.
My advice to buyers. Be very careful when you place a buy offer for boxes of cards. For the most part people on that site are honest. There is always a few bad apples that rune it. Be very weary of Naxcoms costumer service. They used to be very good, but since the site is so big now it has gone downhill in my opinion. My advice to sellers make sure when you send an item you send it insured and tracking number. Naxcom does require this for any item sold over 10 dollars. Buyers also pay for shipping for this.
