This review deals with the actual product from Vermont Teddy Bear. As you'll notice both Epinion searches for Vermont Teddy Bear Bring you to an online store review and I felt this was the best of the 2 to review the actual product.
Shortly after my daughter came down with the chicken pox
at age 5 I was coming home from work and stopped at a small store in the mezzanine level of the World Trade Center to pick up a small present, hoping it would take her mind off her chicken "pops". I found a perfect stuffed plush toy raccoon, made by Gund, and felt it was perfect. When I got home I convinced my daughter that 'Fred' as he came to be known followed me home from New York to make her feel better. But I digress,
Earlier this month my daughter, now 17 years older fractured her leg and has been miserable as she gets around on crutches.
I knew just the thing to perk her up...a new plush teddy bear for Vermont Teddy Bear.(Fred disappeared under suspicious circumstances in 1990) I went to the Vermont Teddy Bear online store to place my order on Thursday, February 9th and paid $15.99 shipping to guarantee delivery on or before valentines day. The site is easily navigated and provides easy ordering.
As promised the bear arrived on valentines day (at 7:45 PM). While the price was high I felt you get what you pay for. At $80.00 for the bear alone this better be one high quality bear.
Regarding the quality of the bear, I can only give it a 'fair'. In all fairness I'm comparing it to a GUND plush animal. Gund products are typically pillow soft both inside and out. This is not true with the Vermont Bear which has soft beautifully colored fur, but as a whole the toy is somewhat stiff, as if stuffed with straw, but I doubt you'll be disappointed.
