I have owned many cars (6) and this was by far my worst nightmare....
me and my wife bought the truck new in 2003, very good truck... for the first 8 months....
it was supposed to be a 4x2 and to say that it was supposed to have a limited slip rear end and it did.... for about 4 months, then it stopped working right, I lived in Delaware and when it snows there it snows, and I drove it to take my Mom to work one cold morning and man at that time I was so happy that I had bought it, it was better on the snow than my S-10, which was mine and this was actually my wifes. it drove very good on the snow that was plowed but still 4 inches at least packed down after a 4 foot snowfall. then the next time it snowed the truck drove like crap on virtually the same conditions, and I did the burn out test to see if the rear was working right and guess what no....
then about a year later, the front end started making this loud clunking noise, and the pulleys were screaming, and this just started out of nowhere, I took it in to get it fixed and man I swear those things stop when you start off to the dealer to have them check, they tightened up the front end and "couldn't find the noise", anyway it didn't stop anytime soon and 5 trips to the shop for the same things didn't end my issues (front end noise, pulleys (not the belts) screaming, it was embarrising to drive it and it was only 2 1/2 years old at this time, I would never own another Ranger in my life I swear I am so glad to be rid of it and never again will I even ride in someone else's Ranger. I loved my S-10, I now own a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL I-4 with 17" wheels, and so far so good, Fusion Good, Ranger Bad..... even the 1984 Chevette (I owned) GOOD, Ranger BAD!!!!.
